Lean Business Programme
Operational efficiency is a constant and on-going challenge for all businesses. Management strive to ensure that the business is getting the best output from the employees' combined effort. As a business, we must not only do things right but we must do things the most efficient way. Management must continually review and evaluate the processes to ensure hard work is not wasted by systemised inefficiencies. This highly practical action-centred programme will build the LEAN skill sets within your business and will take you through delivering a LEAN improvement project from start to finish. It will be delivered by ETAC Solutions.

Embed the Lean business toolset within participating companies
Deliver a project or suite of projects that will have an immediate positive impact on your company’s operational performance
Who should attend?
This programme is suitable for companies from all business sectors and is open to all SME businesses. Participants can be senior managers, department managers and staff, including Owner Managers and Managing Directors of SMEs who want to maximise efficiencies and reduce waste in their operating systems, processes and workflows.
What does the programme consist of?
- 12-week focused business impact programme
- 5 one-day training workshops delivered off-site
- 8 half-day in-company mentoring sessions working on the specifics of your business
How is the programme structured?
Pre-Programme preparation: Prior to first workshop, our programme provider ETAC Solutions, will meet with each participating company to assist with the identification of projects, to set expectations and to clarify the programme process. This will include completion of a Lean Self-Assessment and Project Charter.
Workshop 1: Lean Thinking, Simulation, Process Measurement, Value, Standard WorkWorkshop 2: Improvement Cycles (8-steps), Workplace Organisation & Visualisation
Workshop 3: Lean Material Systems, Value Stream Mapping
Workshop 4: Quick Changeovers, Kaizen events, Quality, Mistake-Proofing, Layout
Mentoring Sessions: Eight half-day mentoring sessions delivered on-site on your company premises.
- Phase 1: Initial meeting in advance of first group workshop (one half-day)
Meet owner / key managers in the company to scope out the Project - Phase 2: Assemble project team (one half-day)
Prepare project business cases and involve Finance - Phase 3: Deliver Project (four half-days)
Weekly coaching on project progress - Phase 4: Project Closure (one half-day)
Implement training, standardisation, monitoring & prevention. - Phase 5: Presentation (one half-day)
Complete assignment with a team presentation to the management team.
What is the cost of the programme?
ManagementWorks is an initiative of Skillnets and is supported by the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs 2014. The programme is highly subsidised, and costs €3,500 per company for three participants. This includes all training, mentoring, course materials, lunches and refreshments.
